Holidays in the mountains
Hiking tours in the mountains are a very good idea to keep in shape during your Italy vacations in the mountains; thanks to them, it’s possible to free one’s lungs from pollution and to strengthen one’s body. Hiking tours in the mountains aren’t dangerous at all; it’s necessary to get every possible piece of information before leaving, controlling that everything is in order: proper clothing, a tourniquet, a germicide, in case of bites or wounds. It’s also recommended to have always the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) or the alpine rescue service phone numbers with you; if you get lost, these two organizations can play a very important role. In winter, you can try hiking tours in the mountains on a horse-pulled sledge or on snowshoes, during your holidays in the mountains; the latter have come back into fashion in the last years.
Vacations in the mountains and cramps
You’ve maybe heard of cramps during your holidays in the mountains, especially among hikers. Cramps derive from a scarce quantity of proper training or from dehydration, especially in height. To avoid cramps during your holidays in the mountains, you need to be trained for hiking trips in the mountains. An example is training slowly but constantly even when you are at home in your city, letting your body getting used to fatigue and sun slowly. It’s a good idea being at the mountain refuge by midday already, to limit the risk of cramps. Their symptoms are: fatigue, nausea, headache, feeling of dizziness and dryness on your skin and in your mouth. A good remedy against cramps is drinking water with a half of a teaspoon of salt, or orange or tomato juice, to reintegrate the lost liquids.
